South East Asia (March – June 2010)

Yeah, it was my very first big, lonely backpacking trip. To be honest it was also pretty spontaneous. I finished my 6 months student internship by British Telecom in Frankfurt and decided to use this opportunity to travel before signing a new contract.
Finding a destination was pretty easy. This time South East Asia for sure. After Colombia I wanted to see the other part of the globe and moreover, there was a great argument behind: low prices J
During this almost 3 months trip I have visited mainly: Chang Mai, Bangkok, Ko Pha Ngan in Thailand, Phnom Penh, Siem Reap with amazing Angkor Wat in Cambodia, Kuala Lumpur and Tioman Island in Malaysia, Java, Bali, Lombok and Gili Islands in Indonesia and Singapore.
It is now impossible to describe the whole trip, but one is undoubted: it only ensured me, that traveling is my biggest passion! What I will never forget is:: eating cockroaches on the romantic date with a tuck tuck driver in Cambodia, doing my first dives in Tioman and Gili Islands, spending my birthday in Singapore, riding a scooter on the left side of the road, having extreme fun on the Full Moon Party on Ko Pha Ngan, climbing Ijen Crater on Java, barely losing sight/vision on Bali and returning home with awful infection on my leg.
I survived in pretty good shape and knew, that it is only the beginning of a great journey of my life.

Decision taken! Time to spread my wings again :)

It took me a while to finally take a decision of going for another big trip. It is never an easy choice, as a “normal life” has also something interesting to offer. Stability, comfort, money and of course your family and your good, old friends around… but there is always WANDERLUST in me. When I am not feeding “it” it is slowly growing and growing and asking for more. Until my passion for travel simply explode and reach the point: it is now on never! Do it! Do it now! Do not waste more time. Live your dreams, see the world, sail the seas, climb the mountains. Do what you love, what you are passionate about. 2 weeks’ vacation? Forget about it, I need more, undefined. It is not about the time, it is more about the feeling behind. When I do not have the return ticket, I do not need to plan around any specified date. It gives me freedom. It makes me calm and let me enjoy the journey not only the destination. This time finally came again. I am extremely happy and excited. My to do list is scaring me, but come on, there should not be any stress. Now good days are about to come :)
This time I decided to write/record in English, so a great majority of my friends can join me in my trip.
During so many trips and months I lived abroad I met hundreds of amazing people, from whom I learned a lot and who let me spread my wings. Now I want them to see where those experiences brought me.
I want you to be a part of my trip, give advices and motivate me to be always so energetic in my life.
Still no exact plan for a trip but slowly my map is up to date :)
